Frank Turnbull Memorial Award

The Late Frank Turnbull

Frank Turnbull during his lifetime was a great believer in the town of Peterlee, and it's residents.  He spoke out in support of the town, particularly in it's early years and highlighted the good work within it's community by both organisations and individuals.  Frank visualised Peterlee as a place where the inhabitants would have pride in their Town and would be caring towards one another.

Two of Frank's paintings are exhibited at Shotton Hall, and copies of his pictoral book "As It Was Then" are available from Peterlee Information Centre and Shotton Hall.

Much media attention is given to the negative in our society, and following Frank's death in 1992, the Town Council and the A.E.E.U. (now AMICUS) formed a partnership creating the Award both in memory to Frank, but also to highlight the much good work that goes on in our community.

Please help to continue making this venture a success by nominating someone!
