Public Buildings
In addition to Shotton Hall Banqueting Suites (see separate section), the Town Council has two other buildings for public use.
Hill Rigg House
A recently created facility incorporating meeting rooms & café. Bookings can be made directly through Hill Rigg House - Tel 0191-5870824. In 2002, a new extension was added to the building by the Surestart Peterlee Project providing facilities and services for children 0-4 years and their families. Further information on the services provided by SureStart can be obtained by phoning the Surestart Office on (0191-5868382).
Helford Road Pavilion
The sports pavilion is situated adjoining the town's cricket ground which has nice views towards Castle Eden Dene, one of the oldest natural woodlands in the country. A number of community activities take place at Helford Road,and the rooms can be booked for private hire. Bookings and further information are available from Shotton Hall (0191-5862491).
