PACES (Peterlee Active Community Exercise Scheme) is a physical activity programme aimed at people in East Durham who may be at risk of certain health conditions that contribute to the onset of heart disease or type 2 diabetes. The programme offers an incentivised membership scheme to help maintain an active lifestyle. PACES activity sessions include Zumba, Circuits, Body Tone, Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi (Chi Kung) and Chair Exercise, PACES helps you to become more physically active at a level that suits you. Regular participation in physical activity helps to improve self-confidence, self-esteem, helps combat weight problems, reduces social isolation, improves overall general fitness, health and well-being, it is also an ideal way to meet new people. All classes are delivered in a safe and friendly environment by qualified instructors. PACES sessions are fun, affordable and motivating.
